I’m rich!! Or Am I?

I just received an e-mail today from one Saudi Arabian aide to the former King Fahd. You seriously got to admire their tenacity of trying to fleece some unsuspecting people.

Read them below:

RE: MESSAGE FROM SAUDI ARABIA

Hello,

Forgive my indignation if this message comes to you as a
surprise and may offend your personality for contacting you
without your prior consent and writing through this
channel.I got your contact from a proffesional database
found in internet while searching for a reliable and honest
person that will be an annointed steward in a vision very
dear to me.

I am Mr.Omer Yavuz a personal treasurer to late monarch
Fahd ibn Abdul Aziz al-Saud of Saudi Arabia. He was
believed to be 82. King Fahd was in poor health for years,
and suffered a stroke in 1995. Under King Fahd’s rule,
Saudi Arabia came into enormous wealth from its vast oil
reserves, making it a major player on the international
stage. King Fahd was a great king, and served very well the
interests of the Arab and Muslim world, so we feel his
loss,” he said. “At the same time, we feel Saudi Arabia
will continue to be at the forefront of Arab and Muslim
action in the field of development and organization, and
also in the field of defending Arab rights and causes.”

Not bad huh….but ofcourse we know that the above e-mail is fake! It’s done in the same aspect as the Nigerian 419 scam. The only difference is that instead of some African General, now we have a very revered King’s name that is sullied.

First and foremost, King Fahd is a very rich man. And being from a monarchy that basically controls Saudi Arabia, it would be foolish of this person to seize wealth of the great King. Perhaps the treasurer may know somethings that we don’t but in this day of age….who needs a treasurer. You may need a Fund Manager or a Treasury Official but you don’t …I repeat don’t use the term treasurer per se.

And if you see the above e-mail, he praised the king highly but then went on to say that I can get a piece of his highness’s wealth by doing certain ’service’ to him, which we now know as transferring his funds..ostensibly to an offshore bank account.

Got to admire the creativity of certain people. Really I do. And then the person went on to provide news links. The news links if you were to check are from the American Government sponsored Voice of America. I guess the poor soul who wrote that thought that by linking to a government news source, people would believe what he is writing.

oh Well…I guess it’s no longer Nigerian 419 scam but it is now(perhaps in future) known as Arabian Scam. If this goes longer I think it would be more fascinating that the Arabian Nights. Perhaps women in those sexy clothes riding camels would be a feature of the new 1001 Arabian Nights who would also be trapping scam prone people into their nefarios scam clutches.
